Absolute Best Challenge Day 38

A bowl of yogurt, fruit and granola is a healthy, energy boosting breakfast.  Your body has not ingested any fuel during your 8 hours of sleep.  (Hopefully you give yourself sufficient time to sleep.) The best way to rev up your engine; your metabolism, is by giving it a balanced meal in the morning. That way, it begins burning calories right out of the gate.

Day 38.  The Metabolic Cure Meal Plan teaches your body to burn calories.  You learn to develop the habit of eating 3 main meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and 2 or 3 protein snacks.  The Plan also switches your metabolism from burning excess fat at high levels, to a slower burn and then back up again.

When you drop your caloric intake, your body burns fat from your fat stores and you lose weight. However, after a few weeks, your metabolism slows down and starts conserving its fat. On week 4 of our plan and after 3 weeks of caloric deficit, we suggest you increase your intake so your metabolism does not slow into "starvation mode" and hit a plateau.  Then, beginning week 5, you repeat the cycle again until you hit your desired weight.

Remember, your reptilian brain still dictates how your body burns and uses fat.  Once you deprive it of calories long enough, it goes into starvation mode and slows down your metabolism.

The Metabolic Cure has a built in a fail safe. Once you increase the caloric intake on week 4, your body believes the famine is over.  It begins revving up its engines and burning excess fat.

Exercise is the other component to this plan.  It will keep your metabolism burning at higher rates because it requires more fuel to keep up with the increased level of activity.  Additionally, maintaining a long term fitness regimen develops muscle mass and creates a denser body.  That will automatically re-set your metabolic rate to burn at a higher level.

We all want to reach our highest levels of potential.  Its a basic human desire to want to improve. Who doesn't want to look and feel better?  We all do, of course.  The difficulty comes when you have to change your habits.  Your patterns of behavior have become a way of life.  That lifestyle becomes so ingrained, it feel uncomfortable to change.

I suggest you incorporate daily meditation and visualize the person who you truly want to be. Imagine yourself in the best shape ever.  Remember the breathing exercise I shared with you?  Slow down your heart rate by breathing slowly, and then use the power of your mind to bring forth peaceful and soothing sensations in your body.  Once you are calm, embrace the vision of your best self.  When you finish your meditation, go out into the world and behave as your absolute best self.
