Absolute Best 90 Day Challenge Day 9




Iliotibial Band Syndrome (ITBS), inflammation of the fascia which extends from the hip to the knee. This stretch is a great way to find relief from pain. 

Day 9 of our journey together and we are closing in on a nice "round" number...10!  Ten signifies the completion of a cycle.  However, it also signifies that a new beginning is about to come.  

What have you learned about yourself so far?  I have learned that I can commit to a promise, that I procrastinate, set high standards for myself; sometimes to my own detriment, like to help, love to teach and was born to dance.

Dieting alone will NOT work
The combination of calorie restriction and exercise does what dieting alone can’t.  However, be aware that you will need to acclimate yourself as you move into this new way of treating your body, mind and spirit.  

My beginning students are full of desire to lose weight, build strength and develop flexibility.  They are so determined to reach their goal that they jump into the first class they come across or hook up with the first personal trainer they find.  They don’t actually know what type of class, nutritional program or stress releasing techniques would be most appropriate for their specific level of fitness, body type or desired goal.  All they know is that they want to improve their current state of being. 

I have consulted with thousands of people who want to start an exercise program and lose weight.  I help them choose their programs guide them towards the appropriate level of intensity for their fitness abilities and suggest changes in their nutritional habits.   In this manner, they have accurate information that will support their behavioral changes and are less likely to get frustrated and drop out.  

You want to feel success on an ongoing basis.  The level of fitness you can handle and the balance of nutrients which garner the best results have to match your current aptitude for setting a healthy lifestyle.  Where are you now with your fitness abilities?  How do you choose the foods you eat?

Apply the simple rule of acknowledging where you currently sit within the scope of your fitness level and weight.  Acknowledging your current aptitude for healthy choices will mean the difference between moving down the road to success or running off into a ditch.
